Page 13 of 52 A Reflection The elderly, the Senior Citizen, the Retired, and the Pensioner, desire and indeed, have a right to live a life of Pride, Independence, Dignity and Honour. They therefore need to be assured of material comfort, financial independence and above all, of Spiritual and Moral Wealth. Today many organizations are in existence, which deal with the problems and needs of the Elderly, mainly relating to material comfort, and financial assistance. Needless to say, these aspects are vital and important to the very survival of life. But the more Human aspect of Moral and Spiritual are either forgotten, or neglected. These are the aspects which render Joy, Warmth, Affection and Love, that is so necessary for the invigoration and the well being of a Healthy Body and Mind. I had the pleasure of attending an Inter-Faith meeting which discussed the theme “Compassion and Service”. There were eminent speakers drawn from different faiths, i.e., Hindu, Christian, Islam, Sikh, and Zoroastrian. From an overview of the deliberations, there was unanimity on the precepts of:- (a) Love  Love thy neighbour as you would thy self,  Love is God, God is Love,  There is only one religion, the religion of love, (b) Compassion  Empathy, -- identify, sympathise, feel and help. (c) Sharing  Sharing with what you have with the needy. (d) Sacrificing  You sacrifice your time, energy and resource, to serve. (e) Serving  Service to mankind is service to the Lord Supreme.  Love all Serve all. It therefore beholds that if you Love with earnestness, the other aspects of compassion, empathy, sharing sacrificing, and serving fall into place for “Loving all and Serving all”. Beside the aspect of serving others, the need for peace is utmost in the context of the scenario prevailing in our country and indeed of other Nations of the World. Without being misunderstood, I would activate the precepts of love into motion by appealing and requesting all, individually and collectively - Getting up on the morning ********************* with Love Spending the Day involved working ********** with Love Getting to sleep at night *********** *********** with Love
