Currently the virus is taking a second shot at us, but mankind has the resilience and ingenuity to defeat any threat when we remain united, focused and abide by essential discipline. The AFVOA Editorial Committee is optimistic that the new year would have divine blessings to get the upper hand on the virus and hence chose to launch this issue of the CV2 on “Puthandu” Tamil New Year’s Day. This day is celebrated all over India and on foreign shores with the hope of a new beginning with great anticipation. Your Association has consistently sustained a high level of virtual interaction with many eminent speakers as part of the E-Connect Series. Administrative activity has kept pace with the Management Committee resolving the long-standing Income Tax issue, digitisation of past Newsletters and 100% member subscriptions for the first time ever. Our website and YouTube Channel have seen feverish activity giving us a global footprint. The year heralded a new GOC who is a scholar soldier with intense operational experience. The AFVOA acknowledges his positive approach to immediately address veteran issues. The Editorial Committee thanks the authors who have contributed interesting articles on diverse subjects. The Committee is also delighted to introduce a new Section, 'Panorama', with contributions from established writers. The next issue of CV2 is scheduled on 26 July “Kargil Vijay Diwas”. Ladies and gentlemen please pick up your pens or the keyboard to bring to the readers your experience of the Kargil Campaign. It does not have to be at the icy heights of Kargil but the influence of the War on you anywhere on the Planet. The mammoth task of putting together this edition goes to Wg Cdr Harshavardhan and Wg Cdr C Ravishankar who as usual have worked tirelessly to bring forth the CV2.
