The sustenance and growth of the Association solely depend on timely collection of the dues from it’s members. More so, when the operations need to be sustained in an environment of spiraling costs. AFVOA is faced with the twin challenges of a vast majority of the members having converted their membership form to Life Time Members (LTM) and the slow rate at which new members are joining. Under this environment, the timely collection of the subscriptions from the Ordinary Members (OMs) sharply comes into focus. When the preceding Committee handed over charge during Oct 2019, the arrears of subscriptions outstanding was in the order of Rs 15,000 +, with the arrears for some members going back by 5 years. While the outgoing Committee had already initiated measures for the recovery, the present Committee vowed to follow it up aggressively. Call it ‘Commitment to the Cause’ or ‘Steadfastness’ or ‘Insatiable appetite for the welfare of the Association’ or ‘Strict Adherence to their Charter of duties’, or, in simple corporate parlance, ‘Achieving the Target’, in a matter of seventeen months, the awesome-twosome team of the Treasurer and the Secretary have achieved the dramatic and stupendous result of ‘Zero Outstanding Subscriptions’ as on date! Let us raise a toast to their (our) success ! May their tribe increase! Since subscriber-wise and year-wise outstanding amounts are not available in detail, certain approximations have been made while stating the figures for the previous Financial Years, but there is no ambiguity as for the status reported as on Mar 31, 2021.
