AFVOA Newsletter of Year 2021

Section 3 – Value Add / Special Tasks CV 2 No. 01 / 2021 Page 32 of 123 It is pertinent to report here a serendipitous incident. When the Committee got in touch with a prospective Speaker (who is a renowned wild life journalist with a popular Newspaper “The Hindu”) for an eConnect event, the prospect was so impressed with AFVOA’s familiarity with contemporary technologies in the domain of digital transformation that he chose to publish a detailed centerspread article in the Newspaper’s weekend supplement “Downtown” dated Jan 31, 2021. This is covered in detail elsewhere in this Section. It has not been chocolates and roses all the way - there is also a downside of the virtual meetings. The die-hard Tambola aficionados must be suffering withdrawal symptoms big time at their inability to host / participate in one. But before long, technology may find a way out of this! Hypothetically, if there was no Covid lockdown, AFVOA would have had 6 in-person bi-monthly meetings between Apr 2020 and Mar 2021, but the world of virtual meetings has enabled 29 such meetings among the members. Isn’t it a bonus? Covid or no Covid, virtual meetings are here to stay!!
