Section 7 – Panorama CV 2 No. 01 / 2021 Page 108 of 123 I was once flying 6E 95 Bengaluru to Dubai and back. We were all set to depart, just waiting for the loading to complete. The skipper came requesting for Last Minute Change (LMC). Whenever there is acceptance of passengers and cargo at the last moment, then some parameters like fuel, take-off weight and speeds would have to be revised and if everything is within limits the change is acceptable. There was still fifteen minutes to go for our pushback and start. After having accepted, I asked the ground staff what was the reason? Later it was told that the vegetable truck got delayed and had just entered the airport. I was sure it was from Devarahalli….And the vegetables were from Paravva’s farm. It filled me with pride that I was carrying her vegetables to Dubai which she used to carry on her head to sell. Well, when all these biccholias, middlemen and hired goondas in the guise of farmers end their nautanki and the new farm laws are implemented giving freedom to farmers to sell their products anywhere, then probably they will charter a cargo plane to export rice to Iran directly. What watershed changes it will bring! About the Author Wing Commander Sudarshan served as a transport pilot in the Indian Air Force.
