Section 3 – Value Add / Special Tasks CV 2 No. 02 / 2021 Page 19 of 332 Birth Centenary Celebration of Col G T Thampi The Birth Centenary of our esteemed member Col G T Thampi was celebrated on 29 Apr 21. Members of AFVOA met up at 0800h for a virtual meeting to greet Col Thampi and seek his blessings. He stays with his daughter in Trivandrum. A few members who have been associated with him in the past like Capt D P Ramachandran, Col A Krishnaswami, Col N Viswanathan, Wg Cdr Ravi Mani and Maj Joy Koruthu fondly remembered and shared their thoughts about Col G T Thampi. It was really heartwarming to see Col G T Thampi sitting in front of his laptop and thoroughly enjoying the session and lapping up every moment. On behalf of all members of AFVOA, Lt Harkirat Singh (serving officer posted at Trivandrum) presented the centenarian with a bouquet and shawl. This was followed by the singing of birthday song by all members led by Mrs Lalitha Mohandas. Thereafter Col G T Thampi addressed the members and thanked them for this wonderful gesture on the part of AFVOA and also conveyed his blessings. A few photos of the celebrations are attached.
