Even to this day I cherish priced memories of my work at the Sqn. I am indeed blessed and fortunate to work as Senior Technical Officer for two Premier Fighter Sqns, first one being part of 16 Sqn COBRAS squadron from 13th Jan 2003 up to 18th Oct 2004 and the second was at 5 Sqn TUSKERS from 19 Oct 2004 to 18 Jul 2006 in which I stretched my entire faculty of human capabilities of man and resources management to the extreme limits. These awesome 20 memorable months in each Sqn have been very successful. I recollect my fond memories of both the squadrons and the way I struggled and moved forward carrying my team along, coupled with God’s blessings and finally emerged successful and this has imbibed tremendous courage and confidence within me. The nerve centre of entire Sqn’s Technical Operations, the DSS is the life line section and a venue for display of true airmanship and camaraderie which no military aviation manuals would specify. However in extreme conditions of field operations and weather, the SOPs at every stage were fully complied with in a most befitting manner. Looking back on these memorable events is a unique life time experience. Life at the COBRA squadron has been full of tremendous challenges with twists and turns in all these 20 months and managing Jaguar aircraft to be fly worthy after Air test, Engine change, after major servicing and above all keeping serviceable aircraft to match monthly flying task have been mind-boggling and indeed a magical task.
