Section 5 - Memoirs CV 2 No. 02 / 2020 Page 85 of 237 Weeks came and went by And a new world opened up for us We pulled down our shutters And opened up our minds To a new dawn, a new family celebration The audacity of this new virus hit us, All kinds of theories thrown at us. Experts sprang up everywhere And dished out magic potions to scare In balconies we stood and clapped Banged our plates and lit lamps What next we thought ? This blasted Corona had us in a tizzy Home had a new meaning Grandma’s recipes were the new flair Each nook and each memory came cascading back Was this destined to be? Was the abused earth giving us a shout? To mend our ways and heed his call. Crowds were the norm Hustle and bustle shaped our day Very busy we were to even acknowledge Each other and spare some time! Unfettered globalization and an unsettling world order Brought this Tsunami into our lives. Where masks and distancing ruled the day. It was time to stop and think Where we’re headed and what life is about A new world order is round the corner Suddenly the birds were chirping The earth was singing a new song When even the Yamuna flowed like a dream Snarling traffic, malls disappeared A great calm has descended Where will all this end?
