Section 6 – eConnect Reviews CV 2 No. 02 / 2020 Page 201 of 237 invent the wheel and most importantly, learning from others’ mistakes in this domain. The Speaker complimented ISRO for achieving success through ‘pole vaulting’ rather than just ‘leap frogging’. The Speaker also touched upon his tele medicine expertise as well as the path breaking initiatives undertaken by him. He started this as a hobby in 1998 and got addicted eventually. In Apr 2020, his TeleMedicine unit had achieved the unparalleled milestone of touching 10 million lives. There were a few other statistics shared by the Speaker but owing to over dependence on technology (recording of the event that failed), the author of this article could not retrieve the data. In the lines of the Speaker’s humorous reference during his talk, the author unwittingly let himself to be the proverbial “Fool who has a tool is still a fool”! Prof Dr Ganapathy is indeed a true example of been there, done that . In our own unique style, let us all raise a toast in his honour for his continued success and wish him that he becomes an integral part of Project Gaganyan. The AFVOA members are indeed fortunate to have had the pleasure of listening to a luminary, a hard core professional and a hands-on practitioner. As for the number of participants, we seem to have plateaued out temporarily. As inveterate optimists, the members of the Managing Committee hope that we will soon hit a century. JAI HIND
