Inspired by these success stories, the AFVOA embarked on staging a virtual meeting of its members on the web on May 17, 2020. After all, the warrior spirit in us would not accept a long hiatus of inactivity. The guest for this first web meeting was none other than Shri Y Gee Mahendra, a renowned and versatile film and theatre personality, a comedian, a character actor, singer, playwright, director, an entrepreneur – the list is long. A befitting and a well known celebrity for an auspicious start. Given his reputation of quick wit, what we expected was a speech laced with humour, instead what we got was humour laced with speech.
