Section 5 - Memoirs CV 2 No. 02 / 2020 Page 163 of 237 I must mention this as a passing reference. The metro line that passes in front of OTA and onto the airport has a station which was originally planned as OTA station. It got renamed as Nanganallur Road because army refused to give about 10 feet x 300 feet land for a skywalk. The small piece of dilapidated area would have ensured access to the metro from both sides of the State highway. A myopic decision of negating the proposal then ensured that OTA does not have a safe path to cross the main road to access the only entry to the metro station. I am grateful to Brig Sampath, Secretary OTAAA to have given me his valuable insights into the Academy and hrlped in compiling this piece. Whatever be our path of learning, just remember the Latin phrase, "Faber est suae quisque fortunae" ("Every man is the artisan of his own fortune").
