This person got scared after seeing the size of the syringe and curved needle and was pleading with the dentist to let him go instead of going through the root canal procedure. Finally, it took a lot of persuasion from the dentist to get him back on the chair. When it comes to dealing with fear there are only two options. The first one is to meet your fears face front and overcome them. Alternately you can create a Lakshman Rekha and say you will not cross the limits. The first choice presents you with an opportunity to progress in life and the second one will designate you as a “Frog in the well”. What about the Fear of God? If people feared God, then this world would have been a much better place to live in. Fromwhat we see around, corruption, murders, rapes etc, I really doubt if people fear God. But one thing is for sure; people do pray to God when they are gripped with fear. About the Author Wg Cdr S Harshavardhan was commissioned in the Accounts Branch of IAF in June 1976.
