I have never seen so many people so ‘inked’ and patterned. Exotic, unusual, large colourful tattoos adorn the young and old! How can one ever sign off a holiday of this kind without the wonderful, legendary Balinese massage? So we pampered ourselves with a good dose of knuckling, pummelling, and kneading with the most fragrant ‘Elang Elang’ oils! Bliss and Nirvana … an exalted state of wellbeing! ‘Kumbasari wholesale Market’ for “Oleh Oleh” or touristy shopping! Meandering through a market that reminded one of the Geylang Singapore market; it was three storeys high accessible by broad stairs that held a profusion of artefacts ranging from ceramics to leather, cane and rattan, blown glass fabrics &T shirts, Balinese costumes, mother of pearl Inlays and other gee-gaws. An array that was variant and vibrant in every possible way. A weeklong dreamlike spell came to end after we rang in 2020 at home, with party games, fun and joy of family spirit and bonding. My Indonesian Interlude ended; indeed, I did ring off 2019 in great style! Profoundly grateful to have had this amazing unforgettable experience of a lifetime!
