Section 2 - News / Updates from the Association Newsletter No. 1 / 2020 P a g e 22 | 101 Visit to L & T Shipyard Kattupalli The Managing Committee planned a visit to L & T Shipyard at Kattupalli. Towards this end, we contacted Veteran Rear Admiral J S Mann, who is currently the VP and Head of Shipyard at L&T, Kattupalli. He readily agreed to our request and the visit was planned for 28 Mar 20. The response from our members was tremendous and 90 members and spouses gave their willingness. Over 75 % of members paid Rs 500/- per head as the subscription. Two AC Volvo buses were booked and all catering arrangements including light refreshments were tied up. However, in view of the spread of Corona virus, the Nation declared a lockdown from 25 March and hence the visit has been postponed indefinitely. This was conveyed to all members through email and What’s App post. The visit will be rescheduled at a convenient date. Till then the subscription amount is being retained in a separate account. The subscription details are placed below. In case of any discrepancy kindly contact Secretary. Refund will be made for those who desire. More than 70% of the subscriptions were paid online. A positive response by our Members and we are grateful for your cooperation.
